I am not really a stressed out person, but I realize that my blog probably makes me sound kind of stressed. I usually blog to vent a little bit. I am actually feeling really stressed at the moment because I have a ton of things to do and I cannot figure out how to post a comment on other people's blogs. Everytime I try it asks me for an account type. When I enter an account type it redirects me and won't allow me to post my comment. I think it is funny how the smallest, most insignificant things tend to stress us out.
What is really ironic is that as I write this post I remembered the breathing techniques from my stress psychobiology class and I decided to try them out! It actually kind of worked! I love the irony of it!

Eating disorders influenced by the internet- reaearch topic
So many good things have come from increased ammounts of media, especially the internet. Along with the good, usually comes the bad also, though. One negative influence that the internet has had is that it has led to an increase in eating disorders. One reason it has led to an increase in eating disorders is because we have tons of access to images of overly thin women. Girls and women are constantly bombarded with images called the 'ideal' that are near impossible to obtain. Another contributing factor to the increase in eating disorders is that there are many pro-eating disorder websites where girls can get advice on how to start having a disorder, or where they can chat with others who have disorders. Eating disorders rates are much higher among girls who know or are friends with girls who have eating disorders. These web sites encourage the girls to have disorders. I want to write about this because it is a serious and growing problem.
Breathe!
This semester has been the most busy semester of my life, (it has also been the happiest, best semester of my college career). I have been working 20 hours a week, going to school full time, working with a professor on research for 5 hours a week, volunteering at the state mental hospital, doing a few side jobs for supplemental cash, and trying to spend time with my fiance. Something that I have found amusing though is that I am taking a stress psychobiology class. As part of the class we have do do some breathing practise for 20 minutes a day, which is supposed to reduce stress levels. THe funny thing is that THis is usually something that I remember to do right before I go to bed, which means that when I am doing it I am thinking, "oh man, I just want to get to bed!" Sometimes I decide not to do it because a few extra minutes of sleep is more important to me than a few points. Then just thinking about missing the points makes me a little more stressed out. It is kind of a vicious cycle; I am supposed to breath to reduce stress, but just thinking about the time it will take stresses me out!

THe Book of Mormon is true!
In this last weekend's General Conference Elder Tad Callister gave a stirring talk about the Book of Mormon. Elder Callister spoke very authoritatively. I don't think that anyone who listened to his talk could refute what he said. He pointed out that those in opposition to the Book of Mormon claim that it was written by influence of the devil. However, the book has power to bring anyone who genuinely reads it closer to Christ, therefore if the devil influenced it he would be working against himself. The Book of Mormon has been bringing people to Christ for over 175 years now. Only a book of God could have such positive effects on the lives of those who read it. Elder Callister left no doubt, if there ever was any, as to the origins of the Book of Mormon.
